Noah says that he has changed his mind, and no longer intends to be a "train driver" when he grows up.
Now, he wants to be a "football player" -- because "H's (our last name) are football players."
True! His dad was a football player, and his two uncles are/were football players in college...
Still, I'm saddened that he won't be getting us free Amtrak travel. ;)
Random snippets of life from Western Kansas, by a wife and mother of six children and manager of a menagerie of pets. Life is a zoo around here, but we like it that way!

Driving past the Co-op yesterday, Noah spotted Mark's work pickup.
"Number 91!" Noah said.
"Yep, that's Daddy's truck," I said.
"Hey, you call him Mark," Noah replied. "He's not your daddy... he's your honey."

Mrs. R told me at school this afternoon that Hannah sat with the high school and junior high boys at lunch today.
Just Hannah, no other girls.
I asked her after school why she sat with the "big boys."
"I just felt like it," she said, with a sly smile.
Sigh. And so it begins.

Hope's teacher called me out of my class to sneak up on Hope and see something funny today, but I couldn't leave. So she told me this story instead.
Apparently, they were getting ready for the history test. Hope asked to go to the bathroom, but then didn't come back. Mrs. R went to the bathroom and didn't see Hope anywhere... but she saw Hope's shoes. So, she called for Hope.
Eventually, Hope's little voice answered... from inside her locker.
Mrs. R said, "What are you doing in there, Hope?"
Hope said, "I'm changing clothes."
Then... a pause... then, "But I'm having a little bit of a problem."
